Comparison

Venus vs. Redo.

Redo put out a comparison deck full of bold claims about LiveRecover, now Venus by VYG. They got the facts wrong and left out the most important details. Here is the record set straight.

The core difference

P2P messaging vs. A2P messaging.

Venus

P2P messaging

  • Real humans, real texts
  • No SMS opt-in needed
  • Just need a phone number at checkout
  • Reaches 70 to 80% of shoppers
  • Works alongside Klaviyo, Attentive and Postscript
  • TCPA-compliant: real humans, not autodialers

Redo

A2P messaging

  • Software sends automated messages
  • Requires explicit SMS marketing opt-in
  • Can only reach opted-in customers
  • Capped at 15 to 25% of your shoppers
  • Directly competes with Klaviyo, Attentive and Postscript
  • You're paying two tools to fight over the same 20%

Bottom line: Redo recovers from the exact same pool your existing SMS tools already reach. Venus recovers from the pool nobody else can touch.

Reach

The numbers that matter.

70 to 80%Of shoppers enter a phone number
15 to 25%Opt into SMS marketing (A2P)
0%Of non-opted-in customers Redo can text

The math: 1,000 abandoned carts. 750 have phone numbers. About 200 opted into SMS marketing. Redo can text those 200. Venus can text all 750. That's 550 abandoned carts that only Venus can reach.

Recovery rates run 10 to 25%, with top performers clearing 22%. That's real revenue from customers Redo cannot message.

Humans vs. AI

AI fumbles. Humans close.

Redo's AI chatbot

Hi Sarah! I noticed you left some items in your cart. Based on your browsing history, I think you'd love the Coastal Knit Sweater! Use code SAVE10 for 10% off your order. Would you like to complete your purchase?

Idk I'm just not sure about the sizing

I understand your concern! Our Coastal Knit Sweater has a 4.8-star rating with 2,847 verified reviews. 94% of customers say it fits true to size. I can also offer you free returns within 30 days. Would you like to proceed with your purchase? Here's your cart: [link]

Talks at, not with. Ignores the real question. Feels like a sales bot.

Venus agent

Hey Sarah! Saw you were eyeing that Coastal Knit. Great pick btw, it's one of our favorites.

Yeah I love it but I'm not sure about sizing, I'm usually between a S and M

Totally get that! I'm 5'6 and wear the M for a relaxed fit. If you want it more fitted the S would work. What vibe are you going for?

Relaxed for sure, ok M it is! Can I get any kind of discount?

I got you, just applied 15% off to your cart. Here's your link: [link]

Segmentation

"Limited segmenting capabilities"? Please.

First-time vs. returning

Separate flows with different copy, tone, and discounts for new vs. repeat customers.

Cart value thresholds

High-value cart flows with bigger incentives. Different strategies by value tier.

Collection filtering

Target or exclude specific product collections. Tailor messaging by what's in the cart.

Customer tag filtering

Use Shopify customer tags to target VIPs, wholesale, loyalty, or any custom segment.

SMS subscriber exclusion

Exclude customers already on your Klaviyo or Attentive list. Zero audience overlap.

Country filtering

US, Canada, or international targeting. Control where messages go.

Every segmentation feature Redo highlights in their deck as a differentiator, we already do. The claim is either outdated or misleading. Either way, it's wrong.

Setting the record straight

What Redo got wrong, and what they left out.

Attribution: fully customizable windows

Redo claims we inflate performance with a "20-day view-through window." The truth: we use two methods, discount codes (10-day) and link attribution (20-day), both fully customizable to match your internal standards. Redo's code-only approach misses every sale where the customer used a different coupon. "Tighter" isn't more accurate.

Segmentation: either outdated or misleading

Every feature they list as a differentiator in their deck, we already do. First-time vs. returning? Done. Cart value thresholds? Done. Collection filtering, customer tags, SMS exclusion, country filtering? All done.

Humans vs. AI: our strength, not a limitation

Redo thinks bots are the future. We think customers can tell the difference, and they can. Our agents read tone, adapt in real time, build genuine trust, and answer complex questions without hallucinating product specs. Humans are also what makes P2P legally compliant in the first place.

P2P vs. A2P: the foundation they never mention

Redo can only text the roughly 15 to 25% who opted into SMS marketing, the same audience Klaviyo and Attentive already reach. Venus texts the 70 to 80% who entered a phone number but never checked the SMS box. That's 3 to 4 times the addressable audience.

Pricing: performance vs. consolidation

Redo wants you to consolidate your entire stack into their platform. Venus is performance-based: you pay a commission on recovered sales, never per message. See pricing. We don't compete with your existing tools. We recover revenue from an audience they can't reach.

VENUS

Don't optimize for 20%. Recover the other 80%.

Venus reaches the customers nobody else can reach. We work with your existing SMS tools, not against them.
